Aside from rangering at America's best-preserved Civil War battlefield, I teach courses online for American Military University. It has been a thoroughly satisfying experience, which I am enjoying greatly. Up to this point, though, I have taught only the American History I survey course. I learned this morning, however, that I will be teaching an upper-level course this Fall: HIST405: Antebellum America, 1846-1861. To say I am excited is an understatement, since this period of our past was of the greatest importance and consequence. So, as I prepare for this course in the weeks to come, I will be refocusing my attention on the fifteen years prior to the Civil War.
I am compiling a bibliography and looking forward to many great reads to come this summer.
