Obituary of Henry Stichter
From Miners' Journal, November 14, 1868
Death of a Soldier--Yesterday morning, Mr. Henry E. Stichter, painter, died at his residence, Schuylkill Avenue, this Borough, of consumption, aged 31 years. During the late war, he was 1st Lieutenant of Company D, 48th Penna. Reg. , and participated in all the engagements of the regiment. He was a brave soldier, and highly respected by all who knew him. He was a member of No. 281 Lily of the Valley Lodge, I.O.O.F. His remains will be interred in the Odd Fellows' Cemetery to-morrow (Sunday) afternoon, at 2 o'clock. Returned soldiers and the public are invited to attend his funeral.
A special meeting of the Lily of the Valley Lodge, No. 281, will be held this evening at 7 o'clock in the Lodge Room, to make arrangements for the burial of Brother Henry E. Stichter. The members of the Order in this Borough and vicinity are invited to meet at the room to-morrow at 1 o'clock, to attend the funeral.
Surviving members of the 48th Regiment will meet at Union Hall tomorrow (Sunday) afternoon at 1 o'clock, to attend the funeral of Lieut. Stichter. Returned soldiers of other regiments are invited to meet at the Union Hotel and join with the 48th in paying the last respects to the remains of a brave soldier.
The Funeral of Henry Stichter
From Miners' Journal, November 21, 1868
Large Funeral--The funeral of Lieut. Henry E. Stichter took place on Sunday afternoon last, from his late residence, Schuylkill Avenue, and was largely attended by his late companions in arms, and by the Odd Fellows, of which order he was a member. Jones's Cornet Band volunteered its service for the occasion, and played on the passage of the cortege to the Odd Fellows Cemetery, where the interment took place, several dirges in a style we have never heard excelled for pathos and expression. Post 23 G.A.R. turned out in strong force, and the long column of citizens which followed the remains to the grave, proved in what high esteem Lieut. Stichter was held in this community, as a man and a soldier. At the grave an impressive discourse was delivered by Rev. Mr. McCool, the service terminating with the solemn burial ceremonies of the Order of Odd Fellows.

Miners' Journal, 4/1/1865
Henry Clay Graeff, 1st Lieutenant, Company D, Forty-eighth Regiment P.V.V., died in this Borough on Wednesday last from disease contracted in rebel prisons. At the time of his death he was in the 21st year of his age. He had been in the Forty-eighth Regiment since its organization, and was known as a thoroughly good soldier. His father, Franklin B. Graeff, is a member of the same Company, and is now with his command. Henry was taken prisoner at the fight on Weldon road in September last, and was a prisoner up to within a fortnight of his death. At the time of his capture he was a sergeant of his Company and was commissioned a lieutenant shortly after while he was in rebel hands. The remains of Lieutenant Graeff will be interred to-morrow afternoon at 2 o'clock from the residence of Mr. Jacob Matthews, Port Carbon Road, east of George Street, and the public is invited to attend the funeral. Returned soldiers will meet at the Union Hotel, Centre Street, at 1 o'clock, to proceed to the residence of Mr. Mathews.
Miners' Journal, 4/8/1865
Burial of the Remains of a Brave Soldier--.On Sunday afternoon last the mortal remains of Lieut. Henry Graeff, Company D, Forty-eighth Pennsylvania Regiment, were interred with military honors in the Presbyterian Cemetery, this Borough. The Pottsville band and a large number of returned soldiers were in the cortege. At the grave religious services were conducted by Rev. Mr. Koons, who delivered an impressive and patriotic discourse. Lieut. Graeff rose from the ranks from sheer force of merit. He was not only a brave soldier, but a young man who was highly esteemed for his many estimable qualities. Our dead heroes will live in the love and affection of the nation. After this war is over Schuylkill County should erect a monument to the memory of her sons who have fallen in this Rebellion.

Thanks for much for all of the the great work that you have done here. I am related to the Dietrich's that are listed here. They were all brothers except Daniel which at the moment cannot tell. Maybe related just not sure how. Nonetheless - these Dietrich's were my grandmother's uncles. Thus my great grand uncles.
